Heart Chakra Balancing Green Smoothie

In honour of Valentine’s Day, I am sharing with you my heart chakra balancing green smoothie. When we take a look at the chakras, more specifically the fourth chakra which is also known as the heart chakra, it is located at the center of the chest and includes the heart as one of its main body systems.  The colour associated with the heart chakra is green, hence the GREEN smoothie! Imagine if we all gave out greens for Valentine’s Day instead of sugar-filled chocolates and sweets! Maybe from this post I will ignite a movement for next year! 😉

The Sanskrit word for the fourth chakra is Anahata, which means “unstruck” or “unhurt.” An open heart chakra finds one who is flowing with love and compassion, forgiving, and accepting of others and oneself. A closed heart chakra can lead to grief, anger, jealousy, fear of betrayal, and hatred toward oneself and others. There are many different techniques and practices we can incorporate into our daily lives to help open our heart chakra and allow ourselves to open our heart to new people and new experiences with compassion, love, and understanding.

  • Foods: green vegetables, especially leafy and cruciferous ones like kale, lettuces, spinach, chard, bok choy, collard greens, broccoli
  • Gemstones: rose quartz, emerald, green aventurine, peridot
  • Take a bubble bath with rose essential oil
  • Meditation
  • Yoga poses that put an emphasis on opening the heart and chest area
  • Incorporating the colour green into your wardrobe
  • Affirmations: 
    • “I deeply, and completely love and accept myself”
    • “I am open to love”
    • “I am wanted and loved”
    • “I forgive myself

Heart Chakra Green Smoothie Ingredients:

  • 1 Avocado
  • 2 handfuls of Spinach
  • 1/2 cup Cucumber
  • 1tsp Spirulina
  • 1/2 can Coconut Milk
  • 1/2 cup filtered water
  • 1 tbsp Chia Seeds
  • 1 tbsp Hemp Seeds
  • 2 tbsp shredded Coconut, unsweetened
  • 1 tsp stevia, optional
